What can you actually deliver?

Arnaud Bailly gave some feedback on the previous post, about software development being too slow. Arnaud said, looking at the drawing:

“I would make the various circles non overlapping : what stakeholders ask is not what developers believe they can deliver. And what is actually delivered is also something different.”

So the picture now looks like this:

You build something, put it out, see what happens and everyone changes their minds about what the system should do by observing and experiencing what it does. The challenge here is to have everyone change their minds in a similar direction, while using as much of the incoming information as possible.
